The press and public are invited to the grand opening celebration of Handlers Equipment at 339 Sumas Way on Saturday, March 25 between 10:00am to 3:00pm.  Handlers Equipment moved to their new location just a few minutes north of the Sumas/Washington border in the Fall 2016.  The move to the new location “reflects the steady growth of the agriculture and construction industry in the Fraser Valley,” said Ivor Venema, managing directory, Handlers Equipment “and we look forward to continuing to provide great service and products to our community from here.”

Founded in 1991, Handlers Equipment has been a part of the Abbotsford community for over 25 years.  In the early years, the company’s focus was on used equipment and import tractors from Japan before continuing to add other farm and industrial lineup of equipment.

In 2001, Handlers started selling diesel crawler rice harvesters to hobby farmers and this quickly flourished into the new and used sales of the coveted Morooka, IHI and Canycon rubber track dumpers.  Alongside the dumpers, extensive research went into the development and building department to manufacture track chassis undercarriages sold to mining, oil field and conveyor system consumers that are shipped worldwide.

Handlers became a dealer for the number one selling tractor in the world, Mahindra in 2009.  With tractors ranging from the 15 HP engine to 105 HP, the tough line of tractors is backed by the industry leading 7-year powertrain warranty.

Most recently Handlers took on the line of Avant compact multi-purpose loader with exceptional weight to lift capacity and hundreds of attachments for year-round use.  Avant compact articulated design minimizes surface impact when used for landscaping, nurseries, tree removal, sidewalk snow removal, farming and more.

In December 2016, they were selected to join the Hyundai dealer network after a strong demand in the area for a broader range of large equipment with better support and service.   “Hyundai’s product quality is proven and we’ve been impressed with their machines and the technology and innovation that come with the Hyundai brand,” said Venema.

Container loading and de-stuffing has become one of the primary business services Handlers offers over the past few years.  They have shipped to the USA, Pakistan, Egypt, Africa, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, China, Japan and continue to be a leader when it comes to the equipment transportation industry.  With an expanded loading dock, Handlers looks forward to handling more cargo than ever before.
